Osceola County is located in Central Florida and is home to the famous Walt Disney World.  Osceola County is just north of Orlando and is a part of the 9th judicial circuit along with Orange County.  Osceola County has approximately 250,000 residents and is one of the fastest growing counties in the country.  Osceola County consists of Kissimmee, St. Cloud, Buenaventura Lakes, Campbell, Celebration, Deer Park, Harmony, Holopaw, Kenansville, Poinciana and Yeehaw Junction.

The County Courthouse is located in Kissimmee, Florida.  There are four seats available for county court judges.  Three of those seats are currently filled and one seat is vacant.  The judges that are currently serving are Carol E. Draper, Hal C. Epperson, Jr., and Stefania Jancewicz. These Judges rotate between traffic, criminal and civil.

In 2008, in Osceola County there were nearly 64,000 moving traffic citations assessed.  Of those 64,000 citations there were approximately 35,000 speeding tickets alone.  The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, Kissimmee Police Department, St. Cloud Police Department along with Florida Highway Patrol all work together in issuing these citations.

Besides civil traffic citation there were almost 8,300 criminal moving violations.  Out of those criminal moving violations just over 1,100 arrests were made for Driving Under the Influence, the Osceola Sheriff’s Department made over half of these arrests. There was just shy of 2,800 citations and/or arrests for driving without a valid driver’s license in violation of Florida Statute 322.03.  In that same year there were nearly 3,000 citations issued and/or arrests for driving while license suspended in violation of Florida Statute 322.34.
