Port Charlotte Florida is located in Charlotte County Florida.  Charlotte County is between Ft. Myers and Sarasota, Florida.  With a population of almost 50,000, Port Charlotte is almost 25 square miles.   Port Charlotte is the most populated area in Charlotte County.  The General Development Corporation, a now defunct corporation was responsible for putting Port Charlotte on the map.

The Charlotte County Sheriffs Office is the main law enforcement agency in the county.  The Sheriffs Office is very aggresive in its enforcement of the traffic and motor vehicle laws.  In addition, the Florida Highway Patrol Troop F has assigned several troopers to enforce the area from its Venice, Florida barracks.

The Florida Highway Patrol uses a fix winged airplane to conduct speed enforcement details in Charlotte County.  The trooper pilot assigned to Troop F uses his airplane to clock vehicles as they pass through a 1/4 mile zone.  He then calls to a trooper on the ground who pulls in behind the vehicle and issues a citation.  Depending on the number of trooper available at the time, it is not uncommon for them to issue 100 tickets in several hours.

If you have received a citation or have been arrested for a criminal offense in Charlotte County, Florida call our office immediately at 1-800-FIGHT-IT so we can discuss the facts of your case.
